The Drum is launching a new global awards event to celebrate the innovative and creative thinking in the PR space. The Drum PR Awards will champion the absolute excellence within this sector.
PR is a multi-disciplined method of customer engagement and is deserving of recognition and The Drum wants to reinforce the value it plays within the marketing mix as a whole. Director of live events, Lynn Lester expressed that The Drum helps readers to make informed decisions and these awards will showcase world-class ideas.
The Drum is one of the world’s largest marketing platforms which, with offices in New York, London and Singapore - attracts a global audience of 1m unique a month. It counts the likes of Sheryl Sandberg, Maurice Levy and Martin Sorrell amongst its guest editors and contributors.
Lester said: “In a world where people are easy to reach but difficult to engage, PR has never been more important. It has evolved into an art-form, a craft in which storytelling and engagement is at the heart of every good campaign. The Drum is on a mission to remind the industry of PR’s vital role.
“That’s why we are launching The Drum PR Awards, to give a global platform and world-wide recognition to the players who are shaking up the industry and delivering exemplary results and value. We will celebrate the most creative, engaging and business-savvy executions across multiple disciplines.”
These awards launch in March 2019, taking place in London on 17 September and will feature a diverse group of leaders within the PR landscape on the judging panel. Anyone who can demonstrate that their PR execution has been creative, innovative and engaging can enter. This includes in-house companies, agencies, independent practitioners, etc.
Lester continued: ““I am extremely excited about showcasing great standards in the industry and at the same time, want to ensure the categories are fully representative of the outstanding work that is being executed. I would encourage people to get in touch if they would like to put forward suggestions for categories and judges. This is your event so help us to create something that has meaning and value to you.”
