Ogilvy UK has appointed One Green Bean managing director Matt Buchanan to the new role of head of PR and influence.

Buchanan moves to Sea Containers House after six years at Havas-owned One Green Bean where he first led its Australia operation before launching the PR and social agency in London. Before that he had spells at The Red Consultancy, Hill + Knowlton and Lexis.

He will report into Ogilvy's chief customer officer Clare Lawson when he takes up the role in April and will lead a team of 100.

"His passion for how modern PR can drive business results and fit within an integrated proposition made him the ideal leader," said Lawson.

Buchanan added: "I look forward to collaborating with the teams across the agency to deliver outstanding work; develop and attract the best talent; and build on the Ogilvy UK culture."

Buchanan joins Ogilvy on the back of its major restructure and recent client wins including PlayStation and QuickBooks.
