Burger King is back in the Super Bowl after 13 years away, and the brand plans to debut a 45-second commercial highlighting the Whopper. The teaser film, 'Preppin', features the silent King as he prepares a set with lights, a table and chairs and a microphone. It ends with the King adjusting the mic, ready to announce what is yet to come during the Super Bowl. It ends with the brand logo and the date of the Super Bowl, followed by directions on how to get a Mystery Box.
It says to head to DoorDash.com or download the DoorDash app, and enter promo code Mysterybox on all orders of $10 or more from participating Burger King restaurants. Then wait for your Mystery Box to arrive at the comfort of your home with instructions to follow – keep the contents of the Mystery Box until game day. DoorDash will also offer $0 delivery fees when people order Burger King through the day after the Super Bowl.
“We haven’t had a commercial air during the Super Bowl in 13 years,” said Fernando Machado, Burger King global chief marketing officer.
“This limited-edition Mystery Box creates a unique, engaging and innovative experience, and we are excited to launch it nationwide for our customers,” said Christopher Payne, DoorDash chief operating officer.
