Jungle Creations secures Adam&EveDDB Dylan Davenport to build up agency offering

In addition to a wealth of experience, Davenport touches down having worked with clients including Marmite, Colman’s, McCain and Volkswagen, which will help the social video firm secure top brands with its creative proposition.

Davenport will serve as managing director of the company’s creative agency. The company brings aboard a Cannes Lions winner (seven wins for the Fifa18 ‘El Tornado’ campaign which he pitched on below).

The group said the hire diversifies its creative offering ahead of it formally launching its new agency in April.

Jamie Bolding, founder and chief executive of Jungle Creations, said: “I am extremely excited about Dylan joining to build out our creative agency. As a company we’ve achieved a huge amount so far, however, to accelerate our growth and to take our offering to the next level we need the right people to drive that forward.

"Dylan’s definitely one of those people. He’s got an incredible entrepreneurial spirit from having worked at various startups, but also the unique experience of having run huge brands at both a local and global level. He’s acutely aware of the shift brands are making in their approach to communications, and like us, wants to give them a better way of directly reaching their audience.”

Davenport added: “Everyone talks about building a new kind of agency, but very few companies are able to deliver on it. Brands want something genuinely different, and not the emperor’s new clothes.

"With Jungle Creations you’ve got a hugely ambitious startup that has no intention of playing by the rules. Because of their incredible success building social channels, they know communities, they know content, and they know culture. I’m genuinely excited about harnessing this to help brands get closer to their audience, with ideas that will have a significant cultural and commercial impact.”

This push into marketing comes after it secured its first chief marketing officer in 2018 in The Guardian's Charlotte Emmerson.

The brand boasts 105 million followers across its six media verticals. These include VT (general viral content), Twisted (food and drink), Kidspiration (parenting), Level Fitness, World Unknown (travel and adventure) and Four Nine Hacks (DIY). The company was founded by Bolding in 2014.

The Drum sat down with Bolding last year to learn how the company is diversifying its income with ecommerce and experiential work. Notably, it is also expanding its creative consultancy output later this year too.
