What was your first ever job?

Filling and packing boxes in a power paint factory.

Which industry buzzword annoys you most?

Adland.

Who would you most love to have a coffee and a chat with and why?

Niall Ferguson - because the combination of knowledge, intelligence and eloquence is a rare and fabulous thing.

What is the highlight of your career (so far?)

Getting a publishing deal with 'No Bullshit Leadership' which will be published in May 2019 by ProfileBooks.

What piece of tech can you not live without?

A dishwasher.

Who or what did you have posters of on your bedroom wall as a teenager?

Poison and Motley Crüe.

What has surprised you most about advertising in recent years?

Its negativity and defeatism.

What’s your top leadership tip for managers?

Nothing counts unless you’re getting stuff done - and that requires the ability to make fast, effective decisions.

What one question do you never want anyone to ask you?

What are you best at?

Best piece of advice you ever heard or received?

“Choose not to be harmed — and you won't feel harmed. Don't feel harmed — and you haven't been."
