Snoop Dogg has joined forces with trendy banking scheme, Klarna, as the face of its 'Get Smoooth' campaign. Valued at $2.5b last year, the Swedish financial unicorn has attracted the attention of the millionaire rapper, who recently became a minority shareholder in the company.

A metamorphic groover, Snoop Dogg is the king of reinventing himself with a new alias. We've had DJ Snoopadelic, Niggarachi, Snoop Doggy Dogg, Snoop Lion, Snoopzilla and even Nemo Hoes.

Now, everyone's favourite RnB pooch is to be known as Smoooth Dogg (for limited ad time only).

Klarna's 'Get Smoooth' campaign exercises Snoop Dogg's easy vibes to demonstrate the smooth facilitating nature of its service.

Snoop Dogg stars in three ads released by the bank. Oozing cool, the spots follow the King while he becomes 'Smoooth Dogg' in a chilled-out coronation, relaxes in an elaborate 7-meter bed with a pack of Afghan hounds for company, and lavishly spreads gold peanut butter over toast.

Klarna's chief executive, Sebastian Siemiakowski said: “Snoop is not only a rap legend, but also a successful businessman, with a genuine interest in tech, retail and e-commerce. He has a great understanding of consumer behaviour and is exceptional when it comes to branding and marketing.” Siemiatkowski continues: “Teaming up with one of the smooothest persons alive, opens new doors to Klarna as we grow and develop as a company.”

Soop Dogg said: "I've been looking for an opportunity to expand my tech investment portfolio to Europe and seeing the way Klarna operates and how they challenge the status quo, I think it’s a match made in heaven. I’m very excited about this partnership."
