As executive strategy director, Hirst has been tasked with driving adam&eveDDB's core planning and data offering.

He has been in the agency's planning department for over four years - two of which he spent as head of planning. He leads planning on Volkswagen, Aviva and McCain, and along with Alex Hesz. Before that, Hirst was joint head of planning at Dare.

McPhee will step up from strategy director to replace Hirst as head of planning. In her new role, she will manage the day-to-day running of the planning department and continue to lead strategy on key client accounts.

She joined the agency in 2016 from Grey London, where she was strategy director. Prior to that, McPhee worked at Droga5 for five years as a senior strategist.

The promotions come after the shock departures of the agency's co-founders last month, after starting the adam&eve 11 years ago. James Murphy and David Golding announced in December that they were leaving the agency to launch a new "creative business".
