This week has seen another wave of appointments and departures at brands, media owners and agencies. The Drum has rounded up the key moves from the EMEA, APAC and North America regions below.

EMEA people are on the move

Cannes Lions

The former managing director of Cannes Lions, Jose Papa, has taken on a new role as global chairman at education technology event, the Bett Show.

TBWA

TBWA has promoted Cem Topçuoğlu to the position of president, international after serving as president of TBWA/Central, and Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa for the past four years.

JCDecaux

JCDecaux's joint UK chief executives Philip Thomas and Spencer Berwin are to step down from the helm of the out of home advertising company after three years.

Essence

Essence has promoted former Maxus veteran Tim Irwin to the role of chief executive EMEA. Irwin has served as chief operations officer for the region since Group M merged Maxus and MEC to fund Essence's expansion.

Arcadia

Ex-House of Fraser chief customer officer Andy Harding has been appointed as interim chief digital officer for Philip Green's Arcadia Group. He will replace Simon Pritchard, who has stepped down from the role after nine years.

MC&C

Ex-Havas Media, Rik Moore, has joined MC&C. He will take up the newly created role of head of insights, strategy and planning, playing a key role in the shop’s renewed focus on partnerships.

Radiocentre

Clementine Bernhardt is to leave Getty Images, to join Radiocentre as head of marketing. She has been tasked with continuing Radiocentre’s campaign to fight any advertising spend decline resulting from Brexit.

Digitas

Matt Holt is leaving Havas after five months to join Digitas as its UK chief strategy officer. Before Havas, Holt has a remit to build Digitas’ connected marketing offering.

Tayburn

Tayburn has hired Ricky Stevens as creative director. Stevens will be lead creative on Tayburn’s key accounts.

Finn

Andrew Hovells has joined the team at Finn as strategy director. He was previously strategy director at PHD. On top of this hire, Brave's Chris Weston will take on the role of creative director.

Glassworks

Glassworks has appointed Chris Kiser as executive producer and new business director for its Amsterdam office. In his new role, Kiser will help build on the company's existing client relationships and expand new business developments.

Wavemaker

Wavemaker has appointed Mu Ali as chief growth officer. In this newly created position, Ali will be focused on leading and generating strategic business growth for Wavemaker UK.

Momentum UK

Momentum UK has hired Jaie Genadt as chief technology officer. He will front the agency’s technology experience offering.

Artefact

Artefact has appointed Sarah De Martin as its UK managing director. De Martin was previously managing partner at OMD EMEA.

Havas Group Media

Havas Group Media has appointed Ailsa Buckley to the newly-created role of deputy managing director as it seeks to further strengthen its leadership team. Buckley joins from Wavemaker, where she was general manager.

APAC people on the move

Ogilvy

Sonal Dabral and Reed Collins have been named new creative leaders for Ogilvy Asia. Dabral will oversee South and Southeast Asia, while Collins will be responsible for the North.

Mediacom

Mediacom has hired Regan Baillie as chief business development and marketing officer APAC. She will focus on developing a stronger culture of prospecting, lead major pitches and support market growth opportunities.

MRM/McCann

MRM/McCann has promoted Nick Handel to regional managing director Asia-Pacific. He was previously chief executive of McCann Worldgroup.

Carat

Carat has hired the former vice president, chief data officer at Accor Hotels. He will take up the role of Carat's first global chief intelligence officer.

72andSunny

Former head of strategy at M&C Saatchi, Ross Berthinussen, has joined 72andSunny in Sydney as executive strategy director.

R/GA

R/GA's regional vice president, executive creative director, Bob Mackintosh, is leaving the agency at the end of the month. He joined R/GA as a freelancer in 2017.

Mutiny

Harriet Wray has joined marketing consultancy Mutiny as its chief operating officer. Previously, she was a product lead at management consultancy PwC for over a year.

Hotwire

Hotwire has appointed Catherine Arnott as an associate director. Arnott was previously an account director at Espresso Communications for 18 months.

BankVic

Deirdre Boyle has been appointed chief product and marketing officer for BankVic. She has been tasked with strengthening BankVic's marketing capability and its focus on member experience.

Hot Pot

Hot Pot has hired Cat Navarro as its first-ever chief operating officer. Her responsibilities will include the dual roles of implementing and overseeing transformation strategies, growth strategies and management structures.

Dentsu Aegis Network

Edmund Choe has been appointed as chief creative officer of Dentsu Aegis Network Vietnam and Dentsu One Vietnam. Choe will play a role in elevating their creative profiles, leading a team to produce innovative creative solutions for brands and businesses.

Reprise

Reprise has appointed two new members to its leadership team in the Asia-Pacific region. Karen Soo has been appointed to the position of head of Reprise Singapore, and Ritika Gupta to the newly created position of e-commerce director.

Publicis Groupe

Publicis Groupe has hired Michael Rebelo as chief executive officer for Australia and New Zealand. In this newly created role, Rebelo’s responsibilities will be to drive greater integration across the group's capabilities.

FCB New Zealand

FCB New Zealand has appointed Paul Shale to the position of chief executive. Shale joins FCB from Roadtrippers Australasia.

BBDO Greater China

BBDO Greater China has appointed Aricio Fortes as co-chief creative officer of its Shanghai office. He is partnering with Awoo Lai current chief creative officer and will report to creative chairman, Wai Foong Leong.

PayPal

PayPal has named its first chief marketing officer since 2013 in former Apple exec Allison Johnson. Johnson will be charged with leading strategic marketing for PayPal and its family of brands, which includes Venmo and iZettle.

Subway

Subway chief marketing officer Joe Tripodi has announced his retirement, vacating the role at the global sandwich franchise.

Reddit

Redit has named Shariq Rizvi vice president of ads products and engineering. Rizvi was director of engineering and co-founder of Twitter’s performance ads business from 2012 to 2016.

Harvest Health & Recreation

Harvest Health & Recreation has hired former president and chief marketing officer of Mosaic and Unilever executive. Kevin George will take up the role of chief marketing officer.

JPMorgan Chase

Ex-JPMorgan Chase chief marketing officer, Donna Vieira, has joined Sallie Mae as executive vice president and chief marketing officer.

Young & Laramore

Young & Laramore has strengthened its EchoPoint Media division with the appointment of Seth Crowder as paid search manager.

Johannes Leonardo

Johannes Leonardo has appointed Samira Ansari as group creative director. In her new role, Ansari will be tasked with leading creative teams across the agency’s client base.

Wunderman Thompson

Wunderman Thompson has appointed Lindsay Gonnella as group strategy director for Rolex brands. She will lead the strategic vision for the watch brand.
