MC&C Media has bolstered its staff with the appointment of Havas’ Rik Moore in the a newly created role, head of insight, strate

The media agency, which boasts clients like Gameloft, Royal Mail, Tottenham Hotspur, The Economist, Which? And LoveHoney, has tasked Moore with building out the group’s planning and strategy capabilities across both new and existing clients. Furthermore, there will be an eye to building partnerships with media owners and specialist agencies.

He reports into Genevieve Tompkins, the chief strategy officer, who was installed in October 2018. It comes during a period of change for the agency, months after the agency’s founder, Mike Colling, stepped down as chief executive. He was replaced by managing director Robin Trust, who’s been with MC&C since 2013.

Trust said: “Rik’s reputation as a brilliant strategist precedes him and I’m beyond delighted that he is coming to join us. He will help shape our client offering, adding an extra layer of strong strategic thinking to everything we do.

“When talking to Rik his passion for original and clever advertising and his positive attitude to every challenge and obstacle shines through and I know he will be a perfect fit for the business. I can’t wait to introduce him to our clients and see where his ideas take us - and them.”

Moore added: “As one of the longer-standing independents MC&C not only has some strong industry heritage and an incredibly interesting client base but there is a tangible air of excitement at the agency at the moment. Last year saw some major appointments and promotions and it’s clear from spending some time with the team that they have a strong proposition to offer the market.

“To join them at this transformative stage in their journey is a wonderful opportunity and I’m genuinely excited about what we can achieve together.”

In 2017 MC&C received £6.6m in private equity investment from Key Capital Partners to help it launch a performance media division.
