SodaStream US marketing chief Maurice Herrera exits after 4 months in the job
SodaStream’s US marketing chief Maurice Herrera has quietly quit his role just four months after arriving from Weight Watchers in order to pursue opportunities elsewhere.
Herrera has jumped ship to Avis Budget Group / SodaStream
His brief tenure coincided with PepsiCo’s acquisition of the carbonated drink specialist in December for $3.2bn. SodaStream’s head of global marketing communications, Shiri Hellmann, will now fill the position over the interim.
Reports suggest that Herrera’s departure also dovetailed with the final presentations in a creative agency review launched late last year. A winner for this review has yet to be announced but the finalists include MullenLowe, Johannes Leonardo and Barton F Graf.
Herrera has quit in order to accept another role as senior vice-president, head of marketing for Americas, at car rental giant Avis Budget Group.
He is credited with transforming the fortunes of Weight Watchers during a three-year spell as chief marketing officer.
