Xfinity celebrates reality TV with fan bar and 'Reality Week'

Fans of reality television are just as important as football fans, according to communications provider Xfinity. That’s why ‘Xfinity Reality Week’ is being featured at a reimagined sports bar in Miami.

‘Reality Week’ is a celebration of the favorite television genre, and Xfinity is offering its TV customers an on-demand destination that includes new and popular reality TV shows in one binge-worthy location, including NBC’s The Titan Games, MTV’s Ex On the Beach and more.

Xfinity, with the help of agency Goodby Silverstein & Partners, has also converted a popular Miami sports bar into the ‘Xfinity Reality Bar', and opened it to the public. It will feature special food and drink menus, just in time for the premiere of the season’s hottest shows.

Every part of the bar experience has been designed with reality TV fans in mind, from the memorabilia – which includes items such as the duck phone used in Jersey Shore – to celebrity guest appearances from MTV’s Ex On The Beach star Chad Johnson and Bravo’s The Real Housewives of New Jersey personality Margaret Josephs among other.

The bar will also feature live interviews in partnership with multi-media brand, Betches, its podcast, The Betchelor, and lifestyle brand and media company, FabFitFun.

According to a 2017 report by Statista, reality TV is among the most popular TV genres in the US, with even more top primetime shows than both news and sports.

“Xfinity TV brings together the best of reality television and we wanted to create a physical destination that reflected the curated experience we offer our customers,” said Todd Arata, senior vice president of brand marketing at Comcast.

In addition to the programming, Xfinity X1 customers can just say 'Reality Week' into the X1 Voice Remote to launch a curated destination of the best of Reality Week shows on demand. Customers can join the conversation in real time across Xfinity social platforms by tuning into daily Facebook Live content and using the hashtag #XfinityRealityWeek.
