Mindshare APAC announces new leadership

The roles replace positions that were previously held by senior figures that have since moved on to other roles within WPP and GroupM, namely Gowthaman Ragothaman who was the last COO for APAC before running the Mindshare FAST business, while former chief growth officer Kevin Rooney has moved to Japan to be CEO of Japan and Korea.

Prashant Modi was previously chief commercial officer for APAC and in the new role he will take on the job of managing the Singapore-based regional hub, as well as working with CEO Amrita Randhawa on further restructuring around future plans.

Randhawa said, “There are few people who care about our people and our company as much as Prashant. He is the beating heart of Mindshare and one of our absolutely finest minds. I am delighted that this role is going to give him the canvas he deserves to make an even bigger impact on our organization and on our people.” Speaking on his elevation Modi said “16 years with Mindshare and it still is a dream place to work with great colleagues and clients. Mindshare has always provided a very open atmosphere to fuel personal growth and I am looking forward to continuing to contribute to our achievements and growing our business further”

Prior to joining Mindshare in APAC, Lightfoot led Isobar as managing director, as well as being a global client partner, working on brands such as Pernod Ricard, Adidas, Yum!, Unilever and Coca-Cola.

Randhawa, added: “Rohan’s been on my must-hire list for years! He is uniquely placed having spent solid time in China, having a blend of creative, media and digital craft experience as well as working on some of the region’s biggest accounts. He understands the changes that the agency needs to deliver in order to continue to be a valued partner for our clients.”

GroupM has seen a raft of senior departures in APAC, some of which haven’t yet been directly replaced, such as former GroupM Performance Media Group (PMG) chief growth officer Michel De Rijk and Sanchit Sanga, who has just left his role of chief digital officer for APAC and MENA at Mindshare.
