Gonzalez Byass has teamed up with Media Bounty to refine the UK brand positioning, strategy and social approach for their quality sparkling wine brand Vilarnau, ahead of launching it into a wider marketplace.

Vilarnau is an established brand in Spain, with a winery located close to Barcelona. Its eye catching Gaudi inspired bottle design has proved a big hit, with sales growing steadily in the UK over the past few years, bucking the general cava trend.

Media Bounty has been working to bring to life the Vilarnau personality and values, like the finer bubbles, sustainable practices, depth of flavour and stylish bottles, to inspire consumers to choose Vilarnau for their at-home little moments of celebration.

Media Bounty’s account director, Caolan Mahon-Pitfield, said: “We’re very pleased to be able to add Vilarnau to our growing client list in the drinks category. Our first port of call for this brand positioning project was to deep dive into the category through social listening. Armed with insights, we developed a strategy and social approach for Vilarnau.”

Sarah Pollard, senior brand manager at Gonzalez Byass, added: “We were confident that we had a great product in Vilarnau and wanted a partner to assist with developing the brand at this key time. Media Bounty has shown us a high level of commitment to growing our business and expertise in elevating our brand”.

Media Bounty has a solid track record in the drinks category, having worked with Cellar Trends, Luxco and Gonzalez Byass on a number of brands in recent years including: Luxardo, Rebel Yell, Beronia and London No.1.
