Key to the deal is the integration of Unscriptd's proprietary mobile technology, which allows TPT to launch its new app, Players' Post. The app is exclusively for athletes to manage and distribute content.

The acquisition will fold in Unscriptd's 2,500 athletes across Europe, Australia, and Asia, growing TPT's community of athletes to more than 5,000.

TPT chief executive Jeff Levick said the deal helps to better connect athletes with each other and with fans.

Both companies were founded in 2014. Unscriptd has offices in Barcelona, London, New York, and Melbourne, Australia.

TPT is a content platform for athletes to share their stories with their fans and the world. In October, TPT partnered with The Athletic to follow the injured Gordan Hayward's return to basketball.
