Sophia "Puff" Story: 3 SIDED CUBE

Below is Sophia Story, one of those at the top of their field who work in the UK biz dev sector.

Name: Sophia 'Puff' Story

Job title: chief changemaker

Agency: 3 Sided Cube

What were your highlights of last year?

This year I was chosen to join the organising committee for IFC (International Fundraising Congress) helping to deliver the conference on a global scale and aiding fundraisers to consider how they can make social impact. I have been selected as a judge for the UK App Awards having won Agency of the Year in 2017. And I have joined the board of 3 SIDED CUBE to help ensure we deliver on our mission to use tech for good.

What has been your most memorable win - and why?

I believe the future of positive social impact work is going to be collaborations between businesses and organisations, working together to deliver on their social responsibility. This year we won our first corporate partnership for our agency, bringing together NHS and Barclays to work together. This initiative will help finance projects that the NHS could struggle to deliver.

How would you describe your approach to business development?

I focus on genuine relationships, and the end results, rather than solely on the financials.

What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?

Do the right thing. Even if it means saying no.

What would be your number one tip to anyone starting in business development?

Master the art of conversation, you can learn a lot about clients, potential clients, and most importantly, your team.

What is your new business soundtrack?

Little Mix- Shout out to my ex
