What were your highlights of last year?
Starting at Realise, some big pitch wins, and generally learning a lot more about the craft of business development.
What has been your most memorable win - and why?
Unfortunately, it's one that I can't announce (yet) but it is memorable for a number of reasons: the value, the long term nature of the contract, and the broad range of disciplines required to deliver the project.
How would you describe your approach to business development?
Considered.
What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
Do not be afraid or worried about qualifying out, no matter what state the pipeline is in. The wrong opportunity can have significant implications to an agency, large or small.
What would be your number one tip to anyone starting in business development?
Ask lots of questions. In meetings, on calls, in fact in any interaction with a prospect. If anything remains unclear then ask some more until you have absolute clarity on what they want and what they need (which may be different...).
What is your new business soundtrack?
If i'm writing RFP's then it has to be Dirk Massen or Einaudi. Any other time? Techno.
