SK-II puts Chinese singer Leah Dou in a technicolour 3D world in latest ad
Japanese cosmetics brand SK-II has rolled out a fantasy ad to promote its latest product.
The spot titled 'Pitera Wonderland', directed by Great Guns director Tal Zagreba, features Chinese singer Leah Dou. Leah Dou grabs the SK-II bottle and suddenly we see an Alice in Wonderland-style technicolour place with funky, colourful dancing characters with triangle-shaped heads that operate zany cranes, ships and planes to craft the limited-edition SK-II bottle.
Virtuoso dancer Kieran Lai helped create the human gestures and through a motion-capture session in Warsaw, Tal's team collected a bank of movements – to bring a live-action feel to the scenes.
SK-II’s limited-edition bottles are designed by Australian artist and illustrator Karan Singh.
Tal said: “The biggest challenge was to finish the huge amount of work within the tight time frame - less than a month for the whole post-production stage. It was an extremely intense race against the clock – you’ve gotta love the adrenaline - and thanks to everyone’s hard work, we managed to go on a crazy ride to the wonderland and back."
