Riot Games unveils DesignStudio’s rebrand of game League of Legends European Championship

DesignStudio rebrand for Riot Games.

DesignStudio has produced a new identity, broadcast package and influenced parts of the set design for Riot Games to re-imagine its European League of Legends Championship game series.

The new brand, entitled ‘Unleash Together’, aims to bring together fans and professional players from over 40 countries. Five graphic textures reference different energies in the game: Rush, Surge, Strike, Blaze, and Blast. They are used as high contrast backgrounds and as dynamic wipes in broadcast environments.

A tattoo artist was commissioned to create 141 bespoke illustrations for each League of Legends’ champion. These illustrations can be used in merchandising and be worn by fans.

Joe Pecchia, senior dev manager, Riot Games said: “It’s hard to put into words how awesome it was to work with DesignStudio on this project - this brand is the result of what a meaningful collaboration looks like, and consequently helped us shape the future of our sport.”

DesignStudio has offices in London, San Francisco and Sydney and has completed brands for Airbnb, The Premier League and Deliveroo.
