As well as winning Best PPC Campaign for their work with Follett Higher Education, Rise Interactive have snapped up the Grand Prix award. The case study showed how smarter applications of data can give brands an edge in even the most competitive markets.

Judge and executive vice president, head ofoperformance at Havas Media, Chris Apostle said: "In the highly-competitive university bookstore category, with market forces, competitive dynamics and a sophisticated consumer who moves in and out of digital channels with little predictability, Rise Interactive used a strategic combination of multi-touch measurement, creative innovation and technology to execute an efficiency-driven campaign for Follett Higher Education.

"Advanced attribution created a connected intelligence loop enabling Rise to maximize efficiencies, reinvest savings and optimize the Follett messaging to drive a colossal 69% Year over Year revenue growth with a modest 18% increase in media spend."

Another big win of the evening came from HomeToGo GmbH who were awarded the Chair Award and Organic Team of the Year.

The holiday rental search engine has become a large contender in this space in just 18 months, with its US domain receiving more organic traffic than any other direct competitor.

Chair of the judging panel and senior manager of global engagement at Microsoft, Purna Virji said: "This is a fantastic example of a brilliant, well-researched strategy, whose results prove just how influential SEO can be across channels and marketing silos.

"The deep thinking they put in to earn multiple wins across multiple concurrent platforms - both on the technical as well as the creative side - is something our entire industry can learn from. In particular, their tie-in with the TV advertising channel as well as their multiple high-value earned placements were especially impressive. The fact that they did this all in such a short timeframe is the proverbial icing on the cake."

Awarded Performance Agency of the Year is Performics. Demonstrating consistently great understanding and use of organic search, the performance marketing agency showed great client acquisition, a deep understanding of how performance marketing is evolving and clarity in their core tenants/values, according to the judging panel.

Other winners include: Search Laboratory for Biddable Team of the Year, Adthena for Search Innovation of the Year, PMG for Most Innovative Search Campaign, Conductor for Best Search Software, Sticky Eyes for Best Use of Local Search and Conductor and WeWork for Best SEO campaign.
