Google commemorates its 20 year anniversary of Google Search by unveiling a series of short films to highlight the power of search for businesses.

The series, titled 'Search Like A G', features Brentwood entrepreneur Chabuddy G from BBC hit People Just Do Nothing, played by Asim Chaudhry. He narrates how he launched his flagship product, Peanut Dust, using paid-search experts – or the ‘Searchies’ – to drive marketing and drive growth in his businesses.

According to an economic impact report from Public First, search has enabled businesses across the country to be more productive, enhance collaboration and crucially offer innovative ways to reach new customers. The report found that businesses using Google Ads services are driving at least £55 bn in economic value for the UK annually.

Nishma Robb, Ads marketing director, Google, said, “We wanted to show the simplicity and power of Google search ads in helping businesses grow and most importantly celebrate the talented search marketers who really power search advertising for agencies and businesses. What better way to tell this story than with one of the UK’s most loved entrepreneurs - the brilliant Chabuddy G! It was a great opportunity to work with Asim Chaudhary (aka Chabuddy G) and the team from the YouTube and BBC hit - People Just Do Nothing. It represented an unmissable and fun opportunity to tell our story and celebrate the unsung heroes of search ads.

“Search is fuelled by queries, but that only tells half the story of its growth. The evolution of search into the product we all know today comes from the talent and dedication of paid-search practitioners who have used the program to connect people and industries like no other.

“It is remarkable how many curious consumers search has guided and how many fledgling businesses it has helped grow in the past twenty years - and working with a luminary such as Chabuddy G has only made me more excited for the possibilities in the next twenty!”

Nick Farnhill, CEO, Publicis London & Poke, said, “With the help of the ultrapreneur Chabuddy G we wanted to remind people just how powerful search can be as a tool for brands: inspiring creativity with new insights on audience behaviour and how search contributes to business fortunes.”
