Pinterest appoints first CMO
Pinterest has named its first chief marketing officer as Andréa Mallard, the former marketing chief of Athleta.
Andréa Mallard joins from Athleta
Mallard, who worked for the Gap-owned sportswear brand just shy of two years, will oversee Pinterest’s marketing and creative teams. She joins the company as it looks to grow its audience across the globe.
Mallard took up the new role on 29 October, reporting into the platform’s chief operating officer, Francoise Brougher, in San Francisco.
“It was clear from my first conversation that this is a purpose-led company with the heart, mind, and values needed to become an iconic, global brand," said Mallard. "Pinterest inspires people everywhere to create a life they love. I believe it can be one of the truly positive corners of the internet and I’m excited about the great possibilities to come.”
Brougher added: “I am very excited that Andréa has joined our team. Her wealth of experience in building great brands will be an asset to our company as we continue to expand globally.”
Before joining Athleta, Mallard was the chief marketing officer of digital health company of Omada Health.
