Independent agency Periscope has announced the hire of two executive creative directors: Heath Pochucha and Jason Bottenus, from Deutsch LA and Fallon, respectively.
Pochucha was most recently group creative director of Deutsch’s Los Angeles office on the Volkswagen account. He’d previously held roles at BSSP, Fallon and Carmichael Lynch, on brands such as Harley-Davidson, Mini and Jack Link’s.
Bottenus last held a creative director role at Fallon, and also worked at Mother London and BBH NY. Clients he’s contributed work to have included Cheerios, Loctite, Axe, Beck’s Beer and Woodford Reserve spirits.
The two report to chief creative Peter Nicholson, who said of the pair: “Bringing in two people of this caliber who will add to Periscope’s long-standing, fully integrated expertise to create even stronger, more provocative work, continues to prove that a fully integrated indie agency is a great way to provide the strongest brand ideas for clients.”
Pochucha called the Minneapolis shop an agency on the rise, and Bottenus said that Periscope shared a desire to create ‘culture-defining work’.
Periscope chief executive Liz Ross said in a statement: “The talent we’ve been able to recruit from across the country is an incredible demonstration of the continued progress of our agency's strategy and mission to create things that people love.”
She also called this moment for the agency its ‘fullest new business pipeline in history’, the two new hires have arrived in the midst of client wins for Intuit Quickbooks, and Seattle-based insurance company Pemco, among others.
