Burberry fashions fresh approach with Instagram product drops

Fashion house Burberry is ringing in the changes by confirming that it will launch selected products on Instagram in a bid to better connect with younger consumers.

This e-commerce move is the latest break with convention to be masterminded by new chief executive officer Riccardo Tisci who has hit the ground running since taking his position in March.

This strategy will see selected products launched on the pictorial social network as well as China’s WeChat, Korea’s Kakao and Japan’s Lin services – entirely eschewing a traditional unveil in store or on the Burberry website.

Burberry has already vowed to cease burning unsold merchandise and using real fur as it seeks to respond to consumer concerns.
