Vice News has partnered with Spotify to unveil a bilingual podcast series called 'Chapo' to engage with Spanish audiences.

The series aims to uncover the story of Sinaloa cartel leader Joaquín 'El Chapo' Guzmán’s rise and fall, through interviews with journalists, Chapo’s family, government officials, cartel hitmen, and citizens living through the drug war’s real-life consequences.

The first three episodes will be released in English across all major podcast platforms and the following episodes will be available weekly exclusively on Spotify,

Ryan McCarthy, editor-in-chief of Vice News, said: “This is the story of El Chapo that you won’t hear in the courtroom and that you won’t read in the headlines. We’re thrilled about our partnership with Spotify and that we can tell this story to both English-language and Spanish-language listeners."
