Qumin appoints new account director Sam Phillips

Chinese focused, London based agency Qumin has appointed Sam Harry Phillips as account director as the agency aims to build on recent account wins.

Phillips will oversee the client services department in the UK and joins from Manning Gottlieb where he spent seven years working for a range of brands including Apple Beats, Sony Pictures and PlayStation.

Arnold Ma, chief executive of Qumin, said: “As we evolve, we want to be able to compete and work at the highest level, globally, not just in China. The quality of work coming out of China is getting much better, but far from world-class. By combining our native understand of Chinese people and cultures, with global agency experience, we hope to a create a new shape of Chinese work that the world has never seen before. With our recent wins, we will be onboarding some of the largest brands in the world and Sam will help us to take the next step on this journey with new skills to complement the rest of our fantastic team in London.”

Phillips added: “China has so much potential, it’s both an exciting and challenging opportunity for our industry. And Qumin seems perfectly situated to leverage this opportunity.

“I want to be at the center of a global shift in innovation, technology and creativity. I hope my process-driven approach and global agency experience will take the already successful Qumin to the next level.”

Qumin has a full creative studio based in London working with European brands to create content for the Chinese market.
