This week has seen another wave of appointments and departures at brands, media owners and agencies. The Drum has rounded up the key moves from the EMEA, APAC and North America regions below.

EMEA people are on the move

McCann Central

PEOPLE ON THE MOVE

McCann Central has added to its senior management team with the appointment of Jacob Dutton as managing director, consulting and Chris Falconer to the position of managing director, McCann Demand.

Tink Labs Limited

Startup Tink Labs Limited has appointed Andrew Warner as the group's chief marketing officer. Warner will lead the global marketing initiatives for the company’s portfolio of products and offerings.

Previously, Warner led the Expedia regional marketing team for EMEA. The new role will be based in London.

Universal Music Group

Universal Music Group (UMG) has appointed record producer Giles Martin as global head of audio and sound for Universal Music Group. The new role will be based at London’s Abbey Road Studios.

Martin will lead UMG’s exploration and adoption of emerging audio formats and consumer technology.

Ogilvy Paris

To be based at Ogilvy Paris, Natalie Hackel has been appointed the agency’s chief delivery officer.

Hackel will be responsible for the organisation and management of the agency's resource allocation systems as well as the implementation and acceleration of project management skills and relations with production partners.

Wunderman

Wunderman UK has recruited Lisa Campana as its director of design. She will be working closely with executive creative director Abi Ellis to further the business’ vision for the 'creative department of the future'.

Unruly

Unruly has appointed Saint Betteridge as its UK commercial director. Betteridge will report to Jason Trout, EMEA managing director. He will be responsible for heading up the UK sales teams of Unruly and building relationships with agency partners.

Truth

The chief executive of Truth, Mary Keane-Dawson, is to leave the blockchain media agency after only one year in charge.

She is to be replaced by Oliver Southgate, who is currently Truth’s chief technology officer.

Carat

Ex-Zenith digital transformation specialist Lucy Ogilvie is to join Carat as its chief strategy officer in the UK. Prior to joining the Dentsu Aegis Network agency, Ogilvie spent nine years at Zenith.

She will report directly to Jo Sutherland, Carat’s chief executive. In Ogilvie’s new role, she will be in charge of leading planning and strategy across the agency’s clients.

Adam & Eve/DBB

Adam & Eve/DDB has promoted several of its staff, including Ant Nelson and Mike Sutherland who have been elevated to executive creative directors, Paul Billingsley who has been promoted to managing director and Jemima Monies will take the role of deputy managing director.

Alongside this, Fiona McArthur has been promoted to group managing director.

APAC people on the move

GroupM

GroupM has appointed Doris Yu as deputy general manager of Xaxis Taiwan. In her new role, Doris will be responsible for managing and enhancing the Taiwan business, as well as helping advertisers integrate Xaxis’ marketing technology into their marketing strategy.

McCann Health Singapore

McCann Health Singapore has bolstered its Singapore team by appointing Nicole Lade as general manager, Sean Riley as executive creative director, Liz Clark Martinez as head of planning, Rebecca Murphy as director, HCP Planning and Communications, and Charles Williams, as in-house medical writer.

The Works

The Works has promoted Paul Swann and Tom Harber to the newly-created roles of managing partners. Swann has been a creative partner at The Works for more than six years, during which time he developed work for accounts including Optus, Jim Beam, Visit Canberra, Unilever, and GSK and won numerous local and international creative and effectiveness awards.

Prior to The Works, he worked as managing partner at Naked and has held a number of senior roles at agencies in the UK and Australia.

AOI Pro

The Japanese communications company has announced that managing officer and vice-president Hajime Ushioda will assume the post of president next year. Current executive officer and president Yasuhito Nakae, who concurrently is and will continue to be president at AOI TYO Holdings, will become a managing officer at AOI Pro in the new year. He plans to resign from his position of managing officer of AOI Pro upon completion of his term in March 2019.

Grab

The ride-sharing company has appointed Mark Porter as chief technology officer for transport. In this newly-created role, Porter will oversee Grab’s technology infrastructure and teams dedicated to its transport business, which includes private-car hires, taxi-hailing, motorbike taxis, carpooling, multi-modal services and more.

MSIG Holdings Asia

The insurer has promoted senior vice-president Rebecca Ang Lee, who oversees brand and communications and business excellence across ASEAN, Hong Kong, Australia and New Zealand, to the newly created role of chief marketing officer.

Final Frontier

The production house has named Chris Colman as executive producer at the its Shanghai studio.

Colman most recently worked with Shanghai-based animation feature film development studio, Oriental DreamWorks, scouting emerging local and international talent and developing relationships with the company’s global partners and collaborators.

Based in Shanghai since 2011, Colman was also previously development and strategy director for the Institute for Animation and Creative Content, a high-end training institute bringing world-class international specialists to China to execute projects and promote skill development in the country's emerging animation industry.

FirmDecisions

The independent marketing contract compliance specialist has announced the launch of its new China office and the appointment of Amplifi China’s Jocelyn Wang as managing director.

Wang will oversee the development and growth of FirmDecisions’ China office, based in Shanghai and will play an integral part in building its national new business portfolio.

Reporting into APAC managing director David Brocklehurst, Wang will be responsible for the management of Shanghai’s local client list, whilst also overseeing the China audits for both global and regional clients. She will also work closely with the Ebiquity offices throughout China.

Viacom

Lego ad veteran Lars Silberbauer has joined Viacom as senior vice president for MTV Digital Studios, which will see him relocate from London to New York at the beginning of November.

Silberbauer has worked for Lego for seven years and was previously responsible for building up the company's global digital content efforts.

The move will see him oversee creative, development and production for MTV's digital originals. Alongside this, in the newl- established role, he will lead MTV’s social channels, including TRL, Teen Code and Cribs.

Duncan Channon

San Francisco indie Duncan Channon has hired John Kovacevich as executive creative director.

Kovacevich has spent nearly four years as a freelance creative director, working directly with Facebook, Airbnb and Google, as well as 215 McCann and Mekanism.

R/GA

R/GA New York has hired Rauxa vice-president Preeti Patel as its first senior vice-president of technology.

Patel has joined the IPG agency after spending less than a year at Rauxa, where she helped to evolve the company’s technical direction.

Fox

Charlie Collier, previously AMC's president and general manager has been appointed chief executive officer of entertainment at Fox. In this role, Collier will oversee the Fox Broadcasting Network and lead the company's entertainment programming strategy.

GS&P

Jim Elliot is returning to GS&P as executive creative director. Elliott left GS&P in 2011 to become chief creative officer of Y&R NY, where he oversaw work for the agency’s entire portfolio of brands. During his first stint at GS&P, when he served as a writer and creative director from 2006 to 2011, Elliott helped lead the creation of some of the agency’s most awarded work.

Liquid Agency

Liquid Agency is expanding its senior leadership ranks with the addition of Christopher Rowlison, who joins the 18-year-old strategy and brand culture agency as president. He comes to Liquid from Wire Stone, part of Accenture Interactive, where he was senior vice-president/chief client officer.

Rowlison assumes the president role from Scott Gardner, who will remain chief executive of the agency he co-founded in 2000. Rowlison has spent the past 16 years at Wire Stone, which was acquired by Accenture Interactive a year ago.

Tremor Video DSP

Tremor Video DSP announced the appointment of Edward Shannon as the company’s new head of client success in an effort to further their commitment to client success and customer relationships. Shannon joins Tremor Video DSP with 20 years of sales strategy, business development and operational experience.

AnalogFolk

Independent digital creative agency AnalogFolk announced the appointment of Ruth Sreenan as executive vice-president, operations for the US.

Based in New York, Sreenan will be responsible for creating and implementing best practices and tools to optimize the overall operation, effectiveness and financial wellness of the agency. She will also oversee project management and production, talent, finance and office services.

Character

Creative branding agency Character has welcomed brand consulting and design veteran Myra El-Bayoumi as strategy director, operating out of the newly opened new New York office, following its acquisition by Dentsu earlier this year.

In the position, El-Bayoumi will lead the agency's practice of uncovering concrete insights and delivering fresh ideas to clients coast-to-coast. She arrives from Landor, having previously worked at agencies such as Siegel+Gale and Interbrand.

Effie Worldwide

Effie Worldwide announced that Veronica Parker-Hahn has joined the organization as senior vice-president of growth and innovation, a new position for the non-profit.

Parker-Hahn is charged with expanding the brand’s educational initiatives throughout the world, working with marketers across all stages of their careers to become more effective practitioners. Parker-Hahn’s nearly 20 years of experience span both client and agency side.
