The new staffers have been brought in primarily to strengthen the work for Kia Motors, the creative agency’s founding and largest client.

Bobby Pearce, D&G’s chief creative officer, explained: “With the launch of the new Stinger and having won the IQS award over brands like Porsche and BMW, we’ve been given the opportunity to rebrand Kia like never before.

“So we wanted to make sure we were staffed in a way that brought strong senior leadership to every area of the business that will continue to move it forward; as well, re-introduce the world to Kia that comes from a place of strength and confidence.”

Schwarzberg’s core remit will be to lead on art, design and product innovation for Kia. He will also assist with new business and work with D&G’s non-profit organization, Today I’m Brave.

Schwarzberg joins after three years with CP+B, where he was creative design director. He will continuing freelancing as creative artistic director for filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola’s umbrella company, Francis Ford Coppola Presents.

He will be joined on the Kia account by Frauke Tiemann, who has been named as group creative director (GCD), and executive creative director Mark Koelfgen.

Tiemann arrives at D&G from Grey, where she held the same GCD role across its New York and LA offices. Koelfgen moves to LA from New York, having previously been posted as executive creative director at Ogilvy on the east coast.

All three arrivals will report into Pearce and David Angelo, the agency’s founder and chairman.
