Revealing the new update in a tweet, the photo messaging app wrote: “Lenses. For cool cats and their cool cats. Try them meow.”

Previously, Snapchat filters only worked on humans and dogs, leaving cats out in the cold.

To use the new cat-friendly filters, users need to click on their pet’s face on the app, lenses with the paw icon will work on them.

The new range of filters include glasses and a flower crown, unicorn horns and devil horns and wings.

Last week, Snap chief executive officer, Evan Spiegel outlined a possible solution to the app’s current growth stagnation, repositioning to attract older users.
