Opel, the Vauxhall-owned car brand, has named McCann as its European creative agency, effective from the beginning of 2019.

The appointment will see McCann work on the promotion of the brand during the 120th anniversary of production, with a focus on its cars and extending the recent definition of the ‘German’, ‘approachable’ and ‘exciting’ values it has created.

Tobias Gubitz, director of brand strategy and marketing communications at Opel/Vauxhall, commented: “Our new partner has a European network of top creatives. The decision also creates efficiencies, since McCann is already working for our British sister brand, Vauxhall. This helps us to implement a pan-European strategy – with a strong focus on the values of each brand.”
