Fortnight Collective has been working with Yasso Frozen Greek Yogurt for a year-and-a-half, and in that time it has helped build the company’s brand strategy, creative development, packaging and website. The short timeline of collaboration was even more condensed for the brand’s latest effort – new holiday flavor packaging.
Fortnight Collective, based in both Boulder, Colorado, and London, collaborated with Yasso on brand strategy, creative development and creative refinement, and the work was all was done across a three-day ‘BrandSprint’ in Boulder. This technique, which Fortnight calls “swift and efficient” is where ad campaigns and rebranding strategies can be accomplished in as quickly as three days or under two weeks, which the agency says suits the current, ever-changing market.
As a result, Fortnight Collective produces relevant and successful ideas for its clients – ranging from Nestlé Purina, Vail Resorts, Stranahan’s Whiskey, B Corp and YO! Sushi, among others. The short turnaround is one that the agency enjoys, as the latest Yasso ‘hack’ has proven.
“This was our fourth 'advertising hack' with Yasso and we loved partnering with them on this project. Great brand, great brief, great product. We believe a forced deadline liberates the strategic and creative development process, and that was certainly true in this case,” said Andy Nathan, founder and chief executive officer of Fortnight Collective.
Yasso has now unveiled three new flavors for the fall and winter holidays – Pumpkin Cheesecake, Peppermint Crunch, and Sugar Cookie – the first seasonal lineup for the seven-year-old brand. Available in both bars and pints, the limited-edition flavors are in addition to Yasso’s current offering of 24 different flavors.
Fortnight and Yasso wanted to reflect the joy Yasso yogurt products bring to its customers, so the packaging for the holiday flavors features spirited, colorful characters enjoying Yasso treats. Designed by Fortnight Collective, the snowman, smiling pumpkin, and Mrs. Claus on the packaging was designed to stand out in the freezer.
“Working hand-in-hand with Yasso's leadership team, we created the strategy and creative concept in three days. Our design team then worked with The Brave Union – an amazing husband and wife team in Kansas City – to bring the character illustrations to life. Our clients loved being a co-architect during the process and we're extremely happy with the final designs,” added Nathan.
Over the past 18 months, Fortnight has been working with Yasso as its project agency of record, developing everything from Yasso’s integrated marketing campaign, brand website, pint packaging design to even helping them create their new 501c3 Foundation, ‘Game On! Foundation.’
