Amtrak has selected a Y&R-led team of WPP agencies as its new agency-of-record.

Americas wins

Amtrak has selected a Y&R-led team of WPP agencies as the transport brand's new agency-of-record. The Amtrak Partnership will be made up of teams from Wunderman, MediaCom, Culture ONE World and VMLY&R. The partnership has been tasked with revamping marketing comms for Amtrak's long-distance services, building up to its 50th anniversary in 2021.

Macy's has partnered with Madras Global to support creative automation work for the retailer's e-commerce platform. Madras will provide high-volume digital advertising services to support the entire Macy's portfolio. Macy's has previously worked with Madras' sister company 2adpro.

Norwegian lifestyle brand Swims has appointed brand communications agency Manifest as its new global partner. The agency will represent the brand from its New York, London and Stockholm offices and has been tasked with building a global brand for the Scandinavian galosh-maker.

Klick Communications has signed four new clients to its Los Angeles office, including drinks brand Kō Hana Hawaiian Agricole Rum, events and production agency Current Affairs, furniture rental brand EventAccents, and hospitality business solutions consultancy Strategic Solutions Partners.

EMEA wins

Italian online delicatessen Diforti has hired Plus 1 Communications to build a brand and presence in the UK. The integrated storytelling agency has been tasked with "sharing the legacy and passion" of the heritage brand with the British public.

This week's acquisitions

  • Billboard has announced the acquisition of entertainment news site Amplify. The site's staff will join Billboard editorial team.

Reviews

Nokia license holders HMD Global is understood to be seeking new creative agencies around the world as it aims to concentrate on regional sales growth across Africa and Apac.

Launches

Women's lifestyle website Refinery29 has launched a creative consultancy, The29th. The London-based consultancy will deliver bespoke content for brands and has signed up the Walgreens Boots Alliance (WBA), which already works with marcomms giant WPP, as its launch client.

Ad sales house Venatus has opened an office in Sydney. The expansion aims to boost the company's partnerships with publishers and advertisers within the Apac market.

New York Media, publisher of Vulture and New York magazine, has launched New York Stories - a full-service division including a custom content studio as well as strategic consulting, insights, data, and events. The studio aims to build on the company's legacy and expertise in trends.

Leeds-based Pinpoint Designs has announced the launch of a Manchester office. The expansion comes less than a year after the Magento agency was acquired by IDHL Group.
