Diageo's head of global media partnerships to chair The Drum Social Purpose Awards
Formerly the Marketing Can Change the World awards, The Social Purpose Awards will celebrate those driving forward socially responsible marketing, brand purpose and a truer representation of society today across the media.
Daykin was appointed to lead and strengthen Diageo’s relationships with a range of key global media partners, joining their global digital center of excellence and supporting their wider digital transformation drive.
He’s a regular writer and blogger with contributions to WARC, The Drum, his own active LinkedIn blog which aims to bring some Digital Sense back to marketing discussions, and has co-authored ‘Eat Your Greens’ with Byron Sharp, Tess Alps and other authors.
As chair person of the awards, Daykin will lead the jury in the search of the industries best campaigns in driving a more diverse, purposeful and socially responsible representation of marketing today.
Daykin commented: "I love judging awards because I find them genuinely inspirational, but I also do it because I believe they play a hugely positive role in our industry when done right. We all know it’s important to reward good behaviours and celebrating campaigns which have truly moved the marketing needle forward helps us all grow. It’s amazing that we as marketers can take a moment to look a little outside of our own bubbles at how our work is really influencing society, and in doing so encourage more organisations to do the same."
