Zalora has a new CMO after hiring former Red Bull head of digital

Zalora has tapped former Red Bull head of digital Elias Pour as its new chief marketing officer to take over from Tito Costa, who took on the CMO function while holding the role of managing director.

Pour will lead a team of over 150 people, overseeing the full marketing operations of Zalora.

Pour will take over from Costa, who has departed to join a venture capital firm, and will lead a team of over 150 people, overseeing the full marketing operations of for the fashion e-commerce retailer.

He will relocate to South East Asia from Australia, where he has spent his last eight years collectively working for Red Bull, as well as Adobe and Commonwealth Bank of Australia.

“As Zalora enters a new phase of growth, we welcome new talents to join us, and Elias is a perfect addition to the management team given his experience in leading high-profile business development and marketing teams across different industries,” said Patrick Schmidt, co-chief executive of Global Fashion Group.

“I am confident that under his leadership, Zalora will continue to provide fashion consumers in Asia, the best online and mobile shopping experience possible and achieve its full potential as the region’s fashion retail powerhouse.”

Zalora faces intense competition in the SEA region from the likes of Thailand-based Pomelo, which The Drum recently spoke to about its omnichannel push.
