This week has seen another wave of appointments and departures at brands, media owners and agencies. The Drum has rounded up the key moves from the EMEA, APAC and North America regions below.

EMEA people are on the move

Engine Group

Engine Group has appointed Jim Moffatt as chief executive officer to oversee eight offices across Europe and Asia Pacific, with a focus on expanding further throughout those regions.

Newsworks

Advertising veteran Tracy De Groose has been appointed as the executive chair of the News Media Association's (NMA) Newsworks.

Last year De Groose stepped down as UK chief executive of Denstu Aegis Network.

MC&C

Mike Colling, the founder and chief executive of independent media agency MC&C, has stepped down. He has been replaced by managing director Robin Trust, who has been with the agency since 2013.

VCCP

Sam Heath has been hired as creative director for VCCP. Before joining, he spent three years as creative director at Apple.

Elonex

Elonex has appointed Lord Digby Jones as its new chairman to work closely with its senior management team.

Adara

Adara has hired former Amnet global chief operating officer and Mediacom global client consulting partner Curtis Nishijima to the newly-created role of managing director, EMEA.

Yopa

Yopa has appointed Pip Heywood as its chief marketing officer, where she'll assume responsibility for all aspects of the estate agent's marketing strategy.

Wunderman

Wunderman has hired Helen Lee as associate business development director, starting with immediate effect.

Ketchum

Ketchum has appointed Con Franklin as managing director of healthcare in London, where he will be responsible for growing and shaping the firm's healthcare offering.

VML

VML London has hired Lucy Taylor as head of marketing and new business to lead its growth strategy.

Compare the Market

BDL Group has appointed Jonathon Brown as chief executive officer of its UK comparison business, Compare the Market.

Proximity London

Proximity London has made three new senior hires to bolster its marketing transformation offering. Dominic McElroy joins as marketing transformation director, Kate Amos as martech-focused strategic data director and Matt Ingram as data and technology partner, a newly-created role.

APAC people on the move

Invnt

Invnt has appointed Brea Carter to the newly created role of director of public relations and marketing, as the agency continues to expand its team. She will be based in Sydney.

Publitek

Hitoshi Kasai has been named Publitek's president in Japan, to serve the agency's global clients there.

Viocorp

Viocorp founder Ian Gardiner has moved on from Amazon Web Services' local startup division. He is to join his wife's venture capital fund.

Foxtel

Adam Ballesty, former marketing and innovation director at Diageo Australia, has joined Foxtel to lead its sports marketing efforts.

Mirum Australia

Mirum Australia has appointed Evan Crompton as service design director and Rebecca Luiters as delivery experience director in newly created roles to support its business client roster since launching its first Australian office in Sydney last month.

Ketchum

Ketchum has strengthened its leadership team in Greater China with the addition of CEO Prince Zhang. In this role, Zhang will be responsible for the strategic direction of Ketchum’s Greater China operation as an integrated digital communications firm.

Wieden+Kennedy

Wieden+Kennedy (W+K) has named Colleen DeCourcy and Tom Blessington as co-presidents, as Dave Luhr and Susan Hoffman move into chair roles alongside W+K co-founder Dan Wieden.

MDC Partners

MDC Partners has announced the departure of Scott Kauffman as the holding company's chairman and chief executive officer.

Oath

Tim Armstrong is leaving Verizon’s digital advertising unit, Oath, at the end of the year, with K. Guru Gowrappan taking over the chief executive officer duties.

Brightcove

Cloud solutions provider Brightcove has announced the appointment of Sara Larsen as chief marketing officer. Larsen was previously at Dassault Systèmes, where she served as vice president, Americas for marketing and communications.

Freeform

Richard Eng has been named vice-president of creative, branding and design for Freeform.

Amobee

Amobee has made two new executive appointments; Scott Ferber as chief innovation officer, and Domenic Venuto as chief operating officer.

Bright Red

Liz Paradise has been named the first chief creative officer for Omnicom's Bright Red, after spending more than two decades at McKinney.

Mcgarrybowen

Greg Johnson has been named Mcgarrybowen's first chief innovation officer, after serving as the chief marketing officer for Swirl.

Young & Laramore

There have been six promotions at Young & Laramore. Dave Theibert has been promoted to associate account director, Sam Hanes to account manager, Scott King to creative director, Luke Meyer to digital director, Dan Shearin to associate creative director and Sarah Frucci to motion designer.

Vault49

New York brand design agency Vault49 has appointed Sam Wilkes as associate creative director.

Wilkes is leaving behind her previous role at Love Creative in Manchester, UK, to cross the Atlantic for the opportunity.

Phenomenon

Phenomenon announced that it has hired four senior executives in response to new business wins and the expansion of its creative and strategic capabilities.

The new Phenomenon team includes: Amy Panzarasa, chief talent and culture officer; Andrew Vranicar, head of innovation; Kat Friis, chief production officer; and Kyla Elliott, group creative director.
