In a LinkedIn statement Meek wrote: “Excited to share that I'm V&A Dundee's first Designer in Residence. I'll be working on Fragments of a Fictional Place - a jigsaw narrative of physical-digital narrative artifacts/character vignettes from a made-up Scottish town. It's a multi-artform piece.”

As a game designer Meek specialises in creating playable stories, drawing inspiration from literature, theatre and films to draw people into his worlds, including a noir adventure game called Beckett within which visitors can immerse themselves.

Already dubbed V&Tay the £80m facility isn’t just an outpost of the South Kensington Institution but a creative powerhouse in its own right, helping to place Dundee on the global creativity map with a dramatic angular build.

Conceived by Japanese architect Kengo Kuma to resemble the granite cliff faces which dominate the north east coast the uncompromising concrete vision has largely won over sceptics, even with some compromises such as bolted on electrical cabling to jolt local wildlife off its readymade perches.
