The Players Tribune and Snapchat enlist NFL, NBA stars in Best of TPT series

The Players’ Tribune (TPT) and Snap Inc. have announced the launch of the player-focused publisher's first show, called Best of TPT.

The 12-episode show premiered on Labor Day (September 3), and has selected both current and former athletes from the NFL, NBA and other sports. Snapchatters across the world can access through the app's on the Discover page. Previously aired episodes will be available using Snapchat’s Search feature.

The first three episodes have featured NFL players weighing in on such questions as “Best NFL Player of All Time?” “Which Professional Athlete Would Make It in the NFL?” and “Craziest Thing a Fan Has Shouted at You?” Episodes four and five have paired a current NFL player with a professional gamer as the duo takes part in a eSports challenge.

Current and former athletes that will appear in the series include Damon “Snacks” Harrison (New York Giants), Keith Smith (Oakland Raiders), Isaac Yiadom (Denver Broncos), Rashaan Evans (Tennessee Titans), DeMarco Murray (retired), Miles Austin (retired), Isaac Whitney (Oakland Raiders), Marcus Maye (New York Jets) and Cam Jordan (New Orleans Saints).

Said Raphael Poplock, TPT's executive vice president of partnerships and business development: "Best of TPT is an ambitious new series for us, and this partnership is the latest example of a strategic partner seeing value in our premium, athlete-driven content.”

The Drum recently talked to TPT about its global expansion that has shaken international audiences as it had for American sports fans when it launched in 2014. Snapchat has also recently announced an updated set of its fast-selling Spectacles product and added Selby Drummond as its first-ever fashion editor.
