Ford

Ford has appointed Wieden + Kennedy to lead an autumn brand campaign.

Global wins

Car maker Ford has appointed Wieden + Kennedy to lead an autumn brand campaign amid a global agency review. The win may help W+K as it competes with WPP's Global Team Blue and BBDO for the main account.

Columbia Sportswear has selected McCann Worldgroup as its global agency of record for marketing services for its namesake Columbia brand. The appointment follows a competitive review, with the new partner agencies leading efforts efforts in the creative, media, and public relations landscapes.

Americas wins

Essentia, a bottler of alkaline water, has announced that Droga5 has been named its lead agency of record following a competitive agency review. Southwest Media Group has retained media planning and buying responsibilities, and DeVries Global retained the public relations business for the brand.

Wine brand Yellow Tail has named The Bam Connection as its agency-of-record. The account was awarded to the Brooklyn-based independent branding and content agency without a review.

Portland Pet Food Company has partnered with independent agency SRW. The agency has been tasked with building national brand recognition of Portland's line of natural, hand-crafted pet food and treats.

Beauty Pie has appointed Above+Beyond and Yonder Media as its first creative and media agencies. The pair have been tasked with launching the brand in the US and the UK.

EMEA wins

Rolls-Royce has appointed Ogilvy UK’s specialist B2B practice to spearhead the engineering giants digital first strategy, including handling all of its advertising, content and social media needs. Ogilvy has been tasked with increasing the brand's reputation for technology solutions.

The Football Association (FA) has appointed Lida to develop a new youth initiative. Lida has been tasked with creating a strategic vision for a Digital Youth Reward and Recognition programme - a scheme which aims to create a lifelong relationship between children and the sport.

Juventus FC has announced a renewal of its partnership with IMG, and has expanded its existing licensing arrangement with the firm to include the US and Canada.

Aston Villa FC has appointed tech agency Great State to future-proof its digital strategy and strengthen its online customer experience. The agency will work with Villa on its digital strategy and plans to improve the club’s digital B2C channels.

Scottish Rugby has appointed Tayburn to develop its new website. The agency has been tasked with delivering sports destination websites for the national rugby brands and Guiness Pro14 teams Edinburgh Rugby and Glasgow Warriors.

The Royal Mint has appointed Nimbletank to transform its mobile experience. The Mint - which produces all the coin currency in the UK and trades in bullion - has asked Nimbletank with developing a new precious metals mobile trading and e-commerce app.

Carpetright has appointed Y&R London to manage a creative refresh and launch a new advertising campaign for the home furnishing retailer. The appointment follows a competitive pitch handled by AAR.

This week's acquisitions

  • Special interest content and platform company Immediate Media Co has acquired BBC Good Food - the UK's biggest food media brand - from BBC Studios. The deal will establish Immediate as the largest food media publisher in the country.

  • Digital agency Wunderman has acquired e-commerce consulting agency 2Sales for an undisclosed sum.

Quality Meat Scotland, the public body which supports Scotland's red meat Scotland, has appointed Weber Shandwick as its lead integrated marketing communications agency following a competitive pitch. Weber Shandwick will develop and deliver campaigns promoting Scottish beef, lamb and pork.

Luxury brand LK Bennett has appointed Threepipe as its sole paid search and SEO agency to deliver further growth for the business. The selection follows a competitive review.

Luxury hotel chain GA Group has tasked Cube3 with launching a new website for the travel brand.

Label PR has been appointed by blow dry brand Pro Blo Group to manage all press and publicity for its haircare products. Label has been directed to increase brand awareness for Pro Blo's flagship product CurlME.

Avant PR has been appointed by accessories brand Broke & Beautiful to handle wider brand management activity, including brand collaborations, events and sponsorship.

Launches

Allied Integrated Marketing has opened a London office and has rebranded as Allied Global Marketing.

Cheshire-based digital marketing agency Inside Online Marketing has rebranded as Salience. The rebrand marks the agency's ninth year in business.

London's Hometown advertising agency has rebranded as Truant. The agency has also launched Truant Music and Truant Media as integrated offerings.

Adtech firm Adform has announced expansions into China, Austrlia and the United Arab Emirates. With new offices in Sydney and Dubai, the company aims to aggressively ramp up its operations in Mena and Apac.
