Wunderman acquires 2Sales to bolster Amazon planning and commerce capabilities
Digital agency Wunderman has acquired e-commerce consulting agency 2Sales for an undisclosed sum.
Wunderman acquires 2Sales
The WPP agency will benefit from 2Sales’ expertise of building brands on Amazon. The group will be merged with Wunderman Commerce and offered to clients worldwide.
This means that 66 2Sales employees based in Luxembourg will join the company, adding to Wunderman Commerce’s tally of around 1,000 people.
Wunderman said that the acquisition strengthens its Amazon expertise, particularly planning, content/search optimisation and promotional management.
Neil Stewart, global chief executive of Wunderman Commerce, said: “For brands to win on Amazon requires tools and techniques that come with direct knowledge and expertise, something 2Sales has mastered over the years by working with over 150 brands. We are delighted that they are joining the Wunderman Commerce family, fortifying our Amazon capabilities across EMEA, and supporting our ability to provide multi-channel digital commerce services to our brand clients.”
Helmut Rieder, chief executive of 2Sales, added: “This is an exciting time for 2Sales as it will enable us to extend our marketplace services and Amazon capabilities to Wunderman Commerce’s global client base. Wunderman Commerce has established itself as the go-to agency in defining and delivering digital commerce strategies across all online channels, and we are thrilled to now be a part of it.”
2Sales’ clients include Acco, Columbia, Fiskars and SC Johnson.
The deal comes after WPP's new chief executive Mark Read told investors he was largely focused on acquiring businesses that could easily integrate within WPP's existing network. With Amazon’s weight in the advertising and commerce space looking to increase, the move will help improve Wunderman Commerce’s intelligence.
