Twitter India's country director Taranjeet Singh announced via his Twitter handle that he will be moving on from the company after four years.

Balaji Krish, Twitter's global head of revenue operations and strategy, has been named as the interim country lead while Twitter searches for Taranjeet's replacement. He will be relocating to India from the US.

Taranjeet, on his Twitter account, wrote: "After 4 amazing years, I have decided to move on from Twitter India - from being one of the first Twitter employees in India, to building up the sales team from the ground up, to leading our expansion and investments as the India country director.

"I'll spend the next month transitioning my country duties to colleague and friend Balaji Krish, our global head of revenue strategy and operations. He's coming from the US to be interim country lead until my replacement is hired. We'll ensure that Twitter won't miss a beat here.

"I'm proud to say that Twitter India is in a strong position and will continue to grow stronger in the years to come. I want to thank all our partners, brands and agencies for their continued belief, trust and support in making my journey so incredible at Twitter.

"India is one of our largest and fastest growing markets worldwide today. We have hired many Tweeps at Twitter India, diversified our client base across the country and continue to be the pulse of Indian society - breaking news, sports, entertainment, politics."

The Drum reached out to a Twitter spokesperson, who said: "We thank Taran for nearly four years of contributions and leadership to Twitter India. He built up our India sales team across the country and, most recently as our India country director, he led our cross-functional effort that has made India both one of our largest and fastest growing markets today. Under his leadership, we have seen strong business performance, a diversified client base, and many innovations for Twitter across India.

"Over the next month, Taran will ensure a smooth transition to Balaji Krish, our global head of revenue operations and strategy, who will be coming from the US to be interim country lead while we search for Taran’s replacement in India.Balaji has spent the past 5 years at Twitter building up his global function and has also previously worked for Google in India to engage with CMOs, brands and agencies.
