The former marketing director for Royal Mail’s MarketReach business has joined the Post Office as chief marketing and digital officer, a newly created role at the company.
Royal Mail's Emma Springham joins Post Office
The Post Office has been without a permanent marketing boss since the exit of Pete Markey for Aviva in 2016.
Consultant Louise Fowler had since been acting marketing and digital director, leading a project to reposition the brand and improve the marketing department’s profitability by slashing the number of people in the division.
“The Post Office has been on a big change journey since separating from the Royal Mail in 2012 and the hard work shows in its 2016/17 annual report, moving into profit for the first time in 16 years," said Springham.
"But I know there is more the business wants to achieve, and I’m looking forward to joining the Post Office and being part of the next chapter of its growth journey."
She joins the business from Royal Mail, where she led the marketing team at the MarketReach business for more than two years.
Prior to that she served in senior marketing roles at insurance firm Allianz, the Royal Bank of Scotland and Barclays.
She will join the group on 4 September.
