Above+Beyond has been chosen by Eurostar to develop a transatlantic tourism campaign.

Global wins

ASL Global has been awarded the global contract for luxury fashion brand Cole Haan. ASL has been tasked with launching the brand's first ever global campaign.

US wins

Smoothie King Franchises Inc has named Rodgers Townsend of Omnicom Group its creative agency-of-record. The agency has been brought on board to relaunch the brand.

Above+Beyond has been chosen by London & Partners, the Paris Convention and Visitors Bureau, and Eurostar to develop a campaign encouraging Americans to visit London and Paris. The brief, including an online video and social campaign, aims to persuade US millennials to use the Channel Tunnel to enjoy both the UK and France on the same trip. The account was awarded following a competitive pitch.

EMEA wins

German airline Lufthansa has appointed Tribal Worldwide London to head its latest UK marketing campaign. Tribal has already produced its first campaign for the carrier, 'The European Love Affair', intended to boost awareness of Lufthansa's European destinations to British tourists.

Habito has appointed Uncommon Creative Studio to handle its UK advertising account. The digital mortgage broker has tasked Uncommon with increasing brand awareness and disrupting the competitive mortgage sector.

This week's acquisitions

  • Apple has acquired Colorado-based smart lens maker Akonia Holographics. The move has been interpreted as a play for the wearables market.

  • Vodafone Australia has agreed to merge with broadband provider TPG Telecom, with the aim of creating a telecoms company that can compete with rivals Telstra and Optus. The merger is worth $15bn.

Dare has been appointed by Cromwell Place, a new arts development in central London, following a competitive pitch. The agency has been directed to redevelop and redesign the project's website, and build a digital membership system. The review was run through Creativebrief.

Licensing firm Born Licensing has been appointed as the representative for JoyPixels Inc, the official brand of emojis. Born Licensing will operate as their licensing agent in the advertising and marketing industry.

Reviews

Lidl is to review its multi-million pound advertising business, which has been with TBWA since 2013. The supermarket said it is the process of appointing an intermediary to manage the review before it will consider agencies.

Launches

MediaMonks, the first company acquired by Sir Martin Sorrell's post-WPP vehicle S4 Capital, has launched a new research and development based in Stockholm. MediaMonks Labs will be headed up by Sander van der Vegte, who was formerly head of games.

FCB Health Network has launched FCB Health Brasil, its first ever dedicated offering in Latin America. The agency will be co-managed by Diego Freitas and Mauro Arruda.

TV performance and analytics company TVSquared has launched TVSquared Japan, to be based in Tokyo. The opening follows a launch in Australia in June.

Programmatic marketplace Sublime Skinz has expanded its European operations with an office in Düsseldorf.
