The morning show, set to air on Facebook Watch starting in September, hired Han from CBS, where she was senior producer for the 8am block of CBS This Morning. Part of her role has involved building a new team dedicated to the show, as well as leading and developing the show’s content strategy and production, including breaking news and bespoke reporting for the Group Nine-owned digital news outlet.

Prior to her time at CBS, the 15-year media veteran worked at ABC News as an executive producer for the broadcaster’s 24/7 livestreaming channel ABC News Now, as well as news programs World News Now, America This Morning and Good morning America News.

Han reports to Tina Exarhos, NowThis’ chief content officer. Exarhos spoke to The Drum in June about the evolution of the from super-short-form content producer to the long-form, premium space.

She said:"I think that the audience and technology and the platforms have all grown up together and you know, what once was the capacity for 30 seconds on scrolling through your phone has turned into a very different experience and it's become the primary place where people are consuming longer-form content now.”

On Han, Exarhos said: “She is a true professional with a deep understanding of how to best deliver important stories to viewers. With NowThis Morning, we’ll be covering relevant news and report on timely issues of the day. Nancy’s deep experience in live broadcast news production will be invaluable to us as we bring together a modern version of a morning show to the Facebook audience.”

Han added: “NowThis truly pioneered social, mobile news, and I couldn’t be more excited to help lead the brand’s next evolution into daily morning news programming. As media consumption continues to shift, NowThis is uniquely positioned to be the news organization of the future, and NowThis Morning is another great example of how they’re at the forefront of that shift.”

NowThis Morning joins a burgeoning group of livestream morning shows that not only includes offerings from ABC, CBS and traditional broadcasters, but also programming like Buzzfeed’s Twitter show AM to DM.
