Venture capital firm MMC Ventures has named Martin Morgan and Ian Barlow as the first appointments to its newly-created advisory board.

MMC Ventures welcomes Martin Morgan, Ian Barlow and Lisa Rodwell in appointment hat-trick

Morgan, a former CEO at Daily Mail and General Trust, will assume the role of board chairman

Morgan, a former chief executive at Daily Mail and General Trust, will assume the role of board chairman while Barlow, a former chair of HMRC and UK head of tax and legal at KPMG, will join him on the board to help guide growth at the venture capital firm.

Together they will be joined by the arrival of Lisa Rodwell, former chief executive of Wool and the Gang, who brings a quarter century of experience in building consumer businesses and brands in tow.

Bruce Macfarlane, managing partner at MMC Ventures, commented: “MMC is scaling rapidly: the combination of Martin’s experience of building international businesses, and Ian’s record of leading both professional and governmental organisations, will be of huge value to the firm.

“At its core MMC is dedicated to delivering the best experience to the entrepreneurs and investors we are accountable to. The creation of the advisory board and expansion of the venture partner programme will enable us to reinforce that effort.”

Companies backed by MMC include Admedo, DigitalGenius, Gousto, Interactive Investor and Signal Media, the latter of which is currently chaired by Morgan.
