Facebook hosts free weekly streams of Serie A and La Liga matches

Hosted via the UK Facebook page of Eleven Sports the curated weekly kickabouts will include Cristiano Ronaldo’s much hyped Juventus debut on 18 August.

Danny Menken, Eleven Sports group managing director, said: “By making Facebook our free-to-air partner, we are giving our leading content centre stage projection, opening it up to new and diverse audiences, and confirming again our innovative leadership in the global sports media industry.”

Coverage will commence on 17 August when Spanish teams Girona and Valladolid face-off against each other.

Last month the Eleven Sports Network was taken off-air by Singtel.

It comes not long after Amazon secured its first ever Premier League rights earlier this year.
