Commencing his new role in October Armisthead brings a wealth of experience to the role having worked for well-known brands including Nike, Coca-Cola, Heineken and EA Sports during an expansive career which also includes spells as head of planning at 180 Amsterdam and senior planner at Dare.
Armisthead commented: “I've always loved an adventure and I’ve been lucky to spend the best part of the last decade leading agencies in different countries and cultures, gaining a truly global sense of our industry.
“I can honestly say there's only one challenge that could’ve tempted me back onto the London Underground. W+K's independence, unflinching commitment to creativity, and the courage of the clients it attracts make it a unique place. In every sense, I am delighted to be coming home.”
No stranger to W+K Armisthead previously served as global planning director at its Amsterdam office and has also held positions at MCBD and Publicis.
Armistead's elevation follows a decision to jettison former CSO Paul Colman in January amidst allegations of an unspecified HR complaint.
