Chief directs ‘Men In Black’ short film for Umbro
Manchester based production company Chief has directed a comedy short entitled ‘Unbelievably Fast Object’ to promote Umbro’s Velocita 4 shoes.
The film, designed by lead creative agency Love, was directed by Chief’s Chris Cottram and sees West Ham United’s Michail Antonio testing out the new shoes on the training field. He is then confronted by the arrival of two ‘men in black’ - comedians Brett Domino and Rich Hall taking on the roles made famous by Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones.
Cottram said: “The script offered up a feast of classy visuals, cinematic tropes and a comedy that we have become familiar with; irreverent, funny as hell and really funny. We needed to achieve the different looks without moving into the realms of parody.”
The Umbro Velocita 4 Pro boots launch worldwide 3 August and the campaign kicks off from across YouTube and Umbro’s social media channels this week.
