The campaign titled 'Heartbeats for Hockey' aims to woo people to support hockey through music, entertainment, fashion, sport and panel discussions. The digital campaign stars the national hockey team urging people to pledge their support for the game, saying: “My heart beats for hockey, does yours?”

The government is further launching an on-ground discussion platform called 'Hockey Adda' to further amplify the campaign. ‘Heartbeat Canters’ will be sent across selected cities in India to promote the world cup.

The specially designed Hockey stick will be installed and made available across six cities namely Chandigarh, Bangalore, Mumbai, Bhopal, Rourkela and Imphal. Additionally two permanent installations at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar will also be made accessible to the masses. The Heartbeat Canter will cover other Indian cities including Jalandhar, Lucknow, Ranchi, New Delhi, Chennai and many more.

Vishal Dev, IAS, commissioner-cum-secretary to government, sports and youth services department and Odisha Tourism, government of Odisha said: "We are delighted to introduce the 'Heartbeats for Hockey' campaign to once again revive the nation's love for hockey. Odisha apart from being host of the hockey men's world cup Bhubaneswar 2018, is also the sponsor of all the Indian hockey teams. We are in true essence a hockey loving state and we would like the entire country to fall in love with the game and cheer for our hockey teams."

Elena Norman, CEO Hockey India, commented: “The trajectory of hockey as a sport in India has attained a new high given the recent commendable performances of the Indian Hockey teams. We urge one and all to come forward and support your hockey team during the upcoming Odisha Hockey Men’s World Cup Bhubaneswar 2018.”

The campaign further bolsters Odisha Government's earlier bus advertising campaign 'Odisha by Morning, Hockey by Evening' in London.
