Former IPG chief David Bell to become non-executive at St Ives Group

Marketing services group St Ives Group has announced that former Interpublic Group (IPG) chief David Bell is to join its board as a non-executive director.

Bell was succeeded by Michael Roth as chairman and chief executive of IPG in January 2005 and retired as co-chairman from the company in 2006. He has also served as chief executive of Bozell Worldwide, as well as an advisor for both Google and AOL, and is currently an independent director for Creative Realities.

He has also acted as an independent director at Time Inc and a number of other USA-based company boards across the media, marketing and tech sectors.

Richard Stillwell, chairman of St Ives Group said: "We are truly delighted to be able to welcome David to the St Ives Board. His extensive experience in the digital media world will be of enormous value to the company which is now focused exclusively on developing and implementing a growth strategy for our digital business services companies. He also has unparalleled knowledge of the USA market which is a priority for our expansion."

His appointment will take effect from 4 August.
