D’Arcy has been with Facebook for seven years leading the social giant’s Creative Shop and in his expanded role as CCO, he'll lead the creative efforts for Facebook's business across global business marketing. He will also continue his leadership role within the Creative Shop, and will co-lead the team with Carolyn Everson. In a statement, the company said that D’Arcy will bring the same exceptional storytelling and brand building he's provided to clients to Facebook's business marketing efforts.

“We’re delighted to welcome Mark to this new role. I’ve had the pleasure of watching him transform Facebook’s role in the creative community over the last seven years. He’s a proven leader and talented storyteller who will bring a vital perspective to our business marketing programs,” said David Fischer, vice president of business and marketing partnerships at Facebook.

"I’m thrilled about the opportunity to lead our global business marketing team. The role is a natural progression of what I love to do – helping businesses tell great stories. It's an exciting challenge to develop new marketing programs and tools for all businesses – from the world's most established brands to small businesses and entrepreneurs – that use our platforms to grow,” added D’Arcy.

The Business Marketing organization drives the narrative around Facebook for Business and the company’s Ads and Partnerships solutions around the globe, and D’Arcy’s role will help unlock growth with Facebook’s marketers, advertisers and partners through the development and execution of a global marketing strategy and plans.

During his tenure at Facebook and throughout his career, Mark has worked closely with the ad industry, establishing Facebook's Creative Council in 2012 and joining the board of AdColor. Before he came to Facebook in 2011, he was senior vice president of Time Warner as well as the president and chief creative officer of Time Warner's Global Media Group.

D’Arcy, along with Sheryl Sandberg, Nicola Mendelsohn, also guest edited last year’s Cannes issue of The Drum.
