This week has seen another wave of appointments and departures at brands, media owners and agencies. The Drum has rounded up the key moves from the EMEA, APAC and North America regions below.

EMEA people are on the move

The Independent

The Independent has announced that Bel Trew has joined as Middle East correspondent, to be based in Jerusalem but reporting from across the region.

Trew will join Robert Fisk and Bethan McKernan in Beirut, plus Patrick Cockburn and Kim Sengupta.

Yonder Media

Yonder Media has appointed Sabrina Francis as its first group brand lead.

Francis joins from Vevo where she was Head of Strategic Solutions, leading brand partnerships with some of the biggest rising stars in music.

BMB

BMB has hired Jason Cobbold as its new chief executive.

Cobbold joins from innovation agency Redscout, where he was managing director The new leadership team includes executive creative director Matt Lever, who joined from VCCP last month.

Viacom

Viacom promoted Lee Sears to senior vice president of Viacom Velocity International.

He was previously vice president of Trading and Sales, focusing on multi-platform entertainment brands such as MTV, Nickelodeon and Comedy Central.

Britvic

Britvic has promoted Bruce Dallas as GB marketing director, following the exit of Kevin McNair after three years in the role.

Dallas has been brand director of carbonates for the Robinsons, PepsiMax and 7Up producer for the past two years. Prior to joining Britvic, he held various senior international marketing roles at Diageo, Unilever, and Robertson’s Foods.

Fetch

Fetch has named Patrick Affleck as its new UK chief executive, following the exit of Jo Sutherland to Carat earlier this year.

Affleck joins after a two-year stint at 360i New York, where he was managing director.

B.Good

Brent Feldman has been named chief marketing officer for B. Good.

Prior to joining the health brand, Feldman held the executive vice president and group account director role at Hill Holiday.

APAC people on the move

Sizmek

Sizmek has appointed former GroupM Australia's head of technology and operations, Timothy Whitfield, as vice president, strategic solutions APAC to lead technology and strategy in the region.

In his new role, Whitfield will advise large brands and agencies on how to build out their technology stack and activate their data.

FCB

Marisa McWilliams has joined FCB as corporate communications manager. She will be splitting her time between FCB Global and FCB Health. She comes to FCB from multicultural marketing agency Team Epiphany.

Evelyn Hsu joined FCB as APAC marketing and corporate communications director. She is based in Shanghai and will split her time to focus on other FCB Asia-Pacific offices. She comes to FCB from Wieden+Kennedy, where she served as a PR lead.

Juliet

Toronto agency Juliet has named Leanne Goldstein to the newly created position of head of client engagement. Goldstein joins Juliet from Taxi, where she was most recently group account director.

Goldstein's career has also included stops at Cossette and Juniper Park, working with several prominent brands including Frito-Lay US, PepsiCo, Kraft-Heinz, Virgin Mobile and Canadian Tire.

GSTV

GSTV, a data-driven, national video network, announced the addition of Jonathan Peach as chief financial officer. In his new role, Peach will oversee the company’s finance and accounting functions.

Peach brings more than a decade of professional experience from a variety of financial and organizational leadership roles for such firms as Procter & Gamble, LexisNexis, Owens Corning and the US Army. He joins GSTV from Gale, a leading library resource provider.

Pound & Grain

Pound & Grain has added to its digital storytelling and technological capabilities, with two new hires at its Vancouver office and a promotion in Toronto.

In Vancouver, the digital shop has tapped Grant Fraggalosch as creative director and Wolfgang Botkin as technical director, two new hires with extensive experience outside of the traditional agency environment. The agency has also promoted Scott Lew from associate creative director to creative director at its Toronto office.

USA Today

The USA Today Network today (July 16) named Kate Gutman head of content ventures, effective immediately.

This new role has Gutman overseeing the growth of the company’s content brands and experiences that extend the portfolio beyond USA Today and 109 local news brands.

Canvas8

Canvas8, a London-based behavioral insights consultancy, has hired Clyde McKendrick in a managing partner role for the US, and as its global chief innovation officer.

McKendrick’s last role was at Sparks & Honey as its chief strategy officer. In the role, which Sparks filled a couple of days ago with Camilo La Cruz, McKendrick had responsibility over leading the agency’s forecasting platforms.
